The Project
Our one-of-a-kind trail network, combined with passionate volunteers and supportive partners, has made the MCCSSC a hub for families, schools, athletes, and visitors from across Northwestern Ontario.
However much of our infrastructure and equipment is aging, and the time has come to reinvest in this treasured community asset. “The Next Glide: From Legacy to Lift-Off” is our bold renewal initiative that both honors the legacy of those who built and maintained our club, while launching us into a sustainable, modern future.

This project is designed to:
-
Rejuvenate our trails through brushing, clearing, and lighting upgrades that extend safe access and improve the user experience.
-
Modernize our equipment with new skis and snowshoes so that children, beginners, and visitors can fully participate in the joy of winter recreation.
-
Protect and sustain our infrastructure by replacing the failing roof on our storage garage, ensuring that essential grooming and maintenance equipment is preserved for years to come.

With these improvements, MCCSSC will not only maintain its role as a community anchor but also expand its capacity to welcome more participants, host more events, and strengthen Marathon’s position as a destination for outdoor winter adventure.
This is more than a project—it is an investment in community health, youth development, tourism, and the future of winter recreation in our region.
